Turns Out The Rivian Travel Kitchen Is Useful Beyond Tailgate Meals
Rivian’s Travel Kitchen was released just recently, but it is already becoming quite popular among the carmaker’scustomers. This was highlighted in a review posted by award-winning independent publication Cool Hunting, which noted that the Travel Kitchen is a perfect accessory for today’s growing community of glampers.
The Rivian Travel Kitchen is a premium product, and at $1,400, it is also premium priced. But while the Travel Kitchen’supfront cost may be a hindrance to some, the accessory in itself seems well worth it. This is because it is not just perfect for Rivian’s electric vehicles — it’s a great electric cooktop set for outdoor use, period.
This was highlighted by Rivian’s culinary operations specialist, Alexandra Doody. She helped develop the Travel Kitchen, which, in true Rivian fashion, is made with eco-friendly materials.
“My favorite part about the travel kitchen is simply that it can go wherever. As long as you have a 120 volt outlet, you’regolden… I think it’s a wonderful accessory for people to still be a part of the Rivian brand even if they don’t have a Rivian… it’s a really nice way to be able to cook sustainably and safely. It’s great for sporting events, or grilling at the park without the need for coal and firewood. It makes it easy to bring people together over meals pretty much anywhere,” Doody said.
Cool Hunting’s reviewer, Emily Gerard, had similar observations when she took the Travel Kitchen with her on a glamping trip. While at the Under Canvas glamping outpost near Acadia National Park, Gerard was able to prepare her meals easily from her vehicle. She summarized her observations about the Travel Kitchen in the following comment.
“Not many campers cobbling together meals out of trail mix and granola bars are used to feasting on hot veggie fritters outside their tent. The Travel Kitchen is a game-changer for us glampers… I found the setup as easy as promised, and appreciated features like the prep space that’s designed to remain level and stable. Plus, not needing propane or an open flame to make my meals reduced carbon emissions and minimized the risk of a cooking fire,” she wrote.
