Rivian tops Consumer Reports' owner satisfaction survey
Consumer Reports' owner satisfaction surveys have revealed something quite remarkable—Rivian has taken its place at the top of the magazine's brand satisfaction list, with a perfect owner satisfaction score of 5/5.
Consumer Reports' 2024 Annual Auto Surveys covered over 300,000 vehicles. For its study, the magazine averaged data from the 2022 to 2024 model years, as well as a few 2025 models. This suggests that Rivian owners of both Gen 1 and Gen 2 vehicles were likely included in Consumer Reports' survey.
A look at Consumer Reports' survey results indicated that 86% of Rivian owners would buy an R1T or R1S again. Following Rivian is BMW, which has a satisfaction score of 4/5 and Tesla, which also has a saturation score of 4/5. Among BMW owners, 73% would purchase another BMW, while 72% of Tesla owners noted that they would buy another Tesla.

As noted by Consumer Reports, Rivian earned the highest score in several of its metrics. These are "Comfort," which includes seat comfort, can noise, and ride comfort, among others; "Usability," which pertains to how easy it is to use the climate controls, gear selector, infotainment system, and other features; and "Ownership Cost," which includes costs for fuel, insurance, maintenance and repairs. Rivian was also ranked fourth in "Driving," which takes into account handling and now quickly the vehicle gains speed.
