Rivian excited after production ramps on Tesla NACS adapters
Rivian R1 owners are excited for Tesla to ramp production of its NACS adapter, which will enable them to access the Supercharger network.
On August 24, 2024, the Tesla Charging X account announced that it would be ramping production on NACS adapters to 8,000 unit per week. The account also stated that OEMs would be ramping suppliers as well.
Rivian R1 owners have tested out Tesla NACS adapters and third-party adapters, as well as checked out the Supercharger Network’s services. Some Rivian R1 drivers have turned to A2Z adapters while waiting for their free Tesla NACS adapters.

However, it has taken some time for Rivian to deliver its free Tesla NACS adapters to customers. Recently, though, Rivian drivers received an email to opt-in to reserve a free Tesla NACS adapter.
“Good News! You can now opt-in to reserve your NACS DC adapter at no cost,” informed the email.
“Please note, only one adapter may be claimed per vehicle. Adapters will be prioritized based on owners’ delivery dates—oldest to newest.”
