Rivian software update 2024.39 teaser hints at Halloween-themed features
Recent reports from the electric vehicle community have suggested that Rivian is currently running a beta test of its update 2024.39 with its employees. The update reportedly includes features that will be rolled out to consumers soon, including some Halloween-themed functions that have yet to be released by the electric truck maker.
Similar to Rivian’s other software updates, 2024.39 will reportedly be distributed to both Gen 1 and Gen 2 vehicles, as noted in a report from RivianTrackr. Rivian Gen 2 vehicles will reportedly receive more features than their Gen 1 counterparts.
RivianTrackr noted that Rivian Gen 1 vehicles are expected to receive Driver Display Improvements, Automatic Front Camera in Park Assist, TIDAL with Dolby Atmos, Vehicle Sleep Improvements, Audio Improvements, Gear Guard Live Cam Reliability Fixes, Additional Improvements, and Spooky Treats.

Gen 2 vehicles will reportedly receive all of these, as well as Rivian Autonomy Platform Improvements, and Battery Notifications.
The 2024.39 update reportedly teases the company’s Halloween-themed features as well. This would be hinted at by Rivian in the following Halloween-themed poem:
It’s nearly time to trick or treat,
And here you’ll find something neat.
Near Hallow’s eve when the moon is clear,
Spooky settings will soon appear!
Rivian has not formally announced what features would be included in its 2024 Halloween update. That being said, the company has released two teasers that hint at Knight Rider and Back to the Future-inspired features that may be coming to R1 vehicles this season.
