Rivian exec teases 2024 Halloween update features
Rivian Chief Software Officer Wassym Bensaid has shared a teaser of the electric truck maker’s upcoming 2024 Halloween update. Based on the Rivian exec’s post, it would appear that the company is preparing something special for R1 owners this Halloween.
Bensaid’s teaser came in the form of a post on social media platform X. In his post, Wassym noted that the Halloween update is coming soon “to a Rivian near you.” This suggests that the company is preparing a compelling Halloween update for both Gen 1 and Gen 2 R1T/R1S vehicles.
The Rivian Chief Software Officer included a teaser photo of the company’s 2024 Halloween update in his post on X. The image was a screenshot from an R1 vehicle’s infotainment system, and it included an image of Gary the Gear Guard dressed as a scarecrow, as well as a list of fun features included in the 2024 Halloween update.

While Halloween themed accent lighting and eerie lock sounds are pretty self-explanatory, the mention of owners getting a chance to “pick out a costume” for their Rivian is especially interesting. Perhaps the “costumes” are related to the Knight Rider and Back to the Future-themed teasers that Rivian has been releasing over the past weeks?
